A flood, sewer back up, garage fire nearly killed your husband, you survive. You know you are lucky to have a family that is blessed with children that take part time jobs to help out. Your children grow up, graduate and go into careers of their own. You keep on working because you love being with people. Your husband works because he has to, may not like it but that is how he was raised, a man works to provide for his family. You both finally reach retirement years together, plan to spend more time together. Or you join a dance group & just having fun. Sometimes your husband gets moody, withdrawn, but you think that is just part of getting older. Slowly he is changing you are not spending as much time together. His memory is not what is used to be but then at 70 who is? His doctor says his heart is slowing down, he has to rest more. Some years later he is more baby like, has to wear diapers. You could put him into a nursing home, but you don't, you take on the job of getting him dressed, bathing him, helping to the washroom - without help because that is how you were raised. Okay it is a burden but you feel lucky. He has many buddies that come over and keep him company often, so you get to go out and have a bit of fun with friends. Some people get old and get violent. He just gets more quiet, silent and withdrawn. Then that fatal day comes and his heart gives out. He is rushed to hospital but after a few weeks he dies. You both have joint bank accounts, your home is in joint tenancy, both names so you don't have any problems. Or so you think? Suddenly you get served notice that you don't own your home. Your husband many years back, severed joint tenancy in secret! Yes! IN SECRET! Your lawyers says it is perfectly legal and there is nothing you can do. you either buy the other person our or sell. This is not a rare story, but common in Canada! Thousands of victims in Canada are losing their homes due to secret filing. And they do not even have the legal right to be notified as registered owners. This is legal in every province but Saskatchewan. Alberta & Manitoba banned secret filing but Saskatchewan banned severance of joint tenancy on matrimonial homes without consent unless due to separation or divorce the court can severe. Point is that this story is happening in Canada coast to coast. I researched 3 years Canadian court case histories and few even made it court the legal costs are so high. Those that did all lost in lower court. One case made it to the Supreme Court of Canada, and still lost, even though the judge did make a statement that secret filing did seem unfair. One woman did it to her husband without his knowledge. A father did it in secret to his daughter who lived together in joint tenancy - she had no knowledge until he died. She lost her case. So many untold stories, all so tragic, all due to secret filing a criminal law, that is legal only in Canada.
My father did it to my mother, that is her story I am reciting leaving out a great deal, except that she did not find out until 18 years after he died, and by then, she had spent her entire life savings, renovating properties she did not solely own. Canadian members of parliament, lawyers, media all think this is perfectly fair and legal and not one person has been willing to help me stop such heinous crimes. Yes, heinous, losing your home at 95 is heinous! Secret filing promotes fraud, property theft, embezzlement and the police will not lift one finger to help you stop it because in Canada these crimes are being made legal due to secret filing is legal! I met with several victims who all refused to allow me to go publish with their stories. In one case the person who stole the properties was married to his sister and he did not want to upset her with the truth. In another case the woman did not want her story public because she truly believed it was God's will and her punishment for having gotten involved in a relationship with the man who stole her home. Each victim has their own crazy excuse for why they don't want to go public. I simply call it "victim shame". The Sudbury police all thanked me for this research, they all got title insurance and changed their will with the suggestion I paid a new lawyer to find a clause that can be added to a will to stop executors from stealing and selling all your properties after you die.

Few quick tips re PROPERTY THEFT, WILLS & ESTATES. If you want to save your heirs from being robbed. i don't have much time too much work trying to get media support & change the laws but for now if you have property rights stolen, want to challenge the laws that allowed someone to steal everything you own or because your rights to survivorship are been robbed - Very quickly before you see a lawyer get all original documents from day one when property/properties were purchased, all mortgage documents, & everything, DEEDS, TRANSFERS ON TITLE, TRANSMISSIONS ON TITLE, MORTGAGES, WILL, DEATH & BIRTH CERTIFICATES, MARRIAGE LICENSE, ALL LETTERS, INCOME TAX COPIES, ETC. pertaining to the properties, from day one to current day & put in date order. Step 1. Go to Provincial Registry & get copies of all deeds (every page not just date registered on title) and copy of everything registered in full details. Step 2. Get proper good clean easy to read copies, go to good printer if necessary, make sure not pages are straight, easy to read copies, nothing crooked etc. Then get printer to put everything on pdf file & email to you if you have email plus put it onto a USB stick (2 copies 1 for you & 1 for your lawyer). that can save you $50,000.00. And years of confusion. 3. Any lawyer that does not tell you of all your rights i.e.: If you are an heir you have the right to remove executor for not probating or dealing with the estate within 3 years. If you are not getting an accounting of where the money is going immediately file a charge & remove executor. If the estate is to be sold, & Executor is not putting them onto the Real Estate market with a reliable well respected agent immediately - Get a lawyer to file for Partition to Sell and force the sale - don't wait 16 years being held hostage like I and mom was so Executor can deplete the estate of all funds and put into debt. If the lawyer says the executor has the right ownership - sue the government immediately & put a stop to executors' stealing everything - which my brother did. And beware - except for Alberta & Manitoba anyone can put their name on title to all properties in SECRET!! So you don't have a hope in hell of ever finding out until you face losing it or it gets sold without your knowledge & the money & the land is gone. All secret filing on property should be banned and it should be federal - Justine Trudeau's government is negligent because they are ignoring this is an open door to crime and promotes criminal behaviour and no province should have the right to make secret filing on anything that affects a registered owner or survivorship rights - ALL SECRET FILING SHOULD BE BANNED IN CANADA COAST TO COAST!

Mom died Saturday, Feb 17, 2017 technically direct result of Clindamycin Antibiotic but the truth is being robbed of her home is was really killed her. I just managed to keep her alive another 3 years but getting the notice of Public Auction June 2014, was so traumatic she began to take heart attacks and was terminal from then on. Mom was so brave. Miracle mom's 98th birthday was wonderful. Thanks to Dr. Trebb, Gill, Primeau, nurses & staff at St. Joseph's Continuing Care, Sudbury, On. FEB 18, 2017 mom died leaving me to deal with the loss of her home, properties & having been held hostage, cheated & robbed... of her's & mine, property rights & rights of survivorship. Her wish was for all her dancing friends to celebrate her life which I did, almost 200 people danced with me honouring her love of dance.
